It is always good to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/contact-us\/\">call CAT<\/a> to schedule a time before you bring a donation.<\/p>\n<p>We accept bike donations to support <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/our-mission\/\">our mission<\/a> in a number of ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community members with financial hardship receive access to quality &amp; safe, refurbished bikes. On average, a donated bike gets 4-6 hours of love and (as-needed) new tires, brakes pads, chains, and cables. Those receiving bikes may make a suggested donation, or volunteer their time in exchange for a bicycle. Our goal is to provide healthy and enjoyable transportation, and wisdom for the bicycle driver. Your donation makes these options available to everyone!<\/li>\n<li>Mechanics-in-training learn how to repair and rebuild bicycles with guidance and supervision of an experienced mechanic.<\/li>\n<li>As a fundraiser for CAT&#8217;s general operation. Refurbished bikes made available by suggested donation to the community greatly support operating costs for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/bicycle_cooperative\/\">CAT Bicycle Cooperative<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/advocacy-reports\/\">CAT&#8217;s regional advocacy work<\/a> to boost bicycling, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/take-a-walk\/\">pedestrian experience<\/a>, public transit (LANta bus), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/ride-the-bus\/\">Adopt-a-Bus Stop program<\/a>, our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/love-a-trail\/\">local trail network<\/a>, and education not covered by other funding sources. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/cat-documents\/\">More information about CAT&#8217;s budget and financials.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>When you bring your bike to donate&#8230;\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>please let the CAT staff person know if you would like a donation receipt for your records. <em>Note, that CAT cannot assess the value of a bike donation, per IRS rules, however you can determine that with the help of your accountant.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/join-now\/\">Join\/Donate Today<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvcat.org\/lvcat\/supporting-organizations\/\">Lehigh Valley Organizations &amp; Businesses supporting CAT<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We accept bike donations to support our mission in a number of ways:<\/p>\n<p>Community members with financial hardship receive access to quality &#038; safe, refurbished bikes.
