Try Transit

CAT’s Adopt-a-Bus Stop program partners with LANta Bus to provide dignity to public transit riders, residents, visitors, and businesses.

Public Transit in the Lehigh Valley

Public transit reduces traffic congestion, need for parking lots, improves air quality and provides mobility for all.

CAT-LANta Adopt-a-Bus Stop Program

CAT volunteers maintain local LANta bus stops by offering directions & bus route advice, picking up litter, cleaning public restrooms (Broad & Guetter BTC & Allentown ATC). Through this program, volunteers earn a monthly unlimited bus pass ($60 value) provided by LANta.

We believe that pride in our local bus stops can earn respect everyone involved: transit riders, local businesses, residents and visitors.

If you are interested to adopt your local LANta bus stop, please contact CAT.

Try Transit

CAT’s Try Transit program invites first-timers to see how easy it can be to ride the bus. If you are new to transit, CAT will help you learn the ropes. If you ride often, let us know what works and what doesn’t. Contact CAT for more info.

LANTA Service Improvements

As of June 2018, LANta is rolling out a new Enhanced Bus Service (EBS), with optimized routes. This will provide service improvements in the most highly traveled corridor, between the Lehigh Valley Mall, Center City Allentown, and downtown Bethlehem. Proposed improvements with the next phase, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), will offer high-tech improvements such as: traffic signal optimization, bus boxes and advanced green signals for queue jumping.

CAT urges LANta consideration of:

  • Extend hours for 200’s bus routes FROM 6pm TO 9pm, and add service for these routes on Sundays.
  • More bus shelters for rain & sun with benches for rest. Since most shelters are on private property, CAT is asking property owners to step up and support LANta riders.
