Holiday Lights Bike Ride

Join us THURSDAY, DECEMBER 23, MEET 5 p.m., at CAT office, 1935 W. Broad Street,  Bethlehem, PA.    This is CAT’s annual holiday bike ride.  We’ll tour some of the more outlandish light displays in and about Bethlehem.  Dress warmly, bring your lights and invite your friends!!

The weather looks like it will be seasonably chilly, but before you get too worried about the cold, keep in mind that several years ago we did this ride when it was about 5ºF, which makes Thursday’s expected weather appear downright balmy! Nonetheless, dress warmly, layers are best, and wool is awesome as one of those layers. Lights are a requirement, as we’ll be riding in full darkness.

Even if you’re not generally comfortable riding the streets in the dark, you can expect to enjoy this ride, as we’ll be in a group, unmistakably visible to all other road users. (Silly lights are wholly appropriate, as are antlers, santa hats, etc!)

Our ride will be in and about Bethlehem, focusing on areas that have over-the-top light displays. If you know of any such, email me with the locations so we can incorporate your suggestions into our route.

Kids are totally welcome on this ride – we’ll be following a mellow pace, and likely not going more than 10 miles. Hope to see you there!!!! All you need to do to join is: Show up with a rideable bike and a helmet.

This project is being completed in partnership with the Lehigh Valley Greenways Conservation Landscape.  Funding is being provided in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, Environmental Stewardship Fund, administered by Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, Inc.
