Farmersville Elementary School Bike Day – Saturday, April 26, 2014

Saturday, April 26th, 70 students at Farmersville Elementary School and their family members with bikes attended a bicycle educational event coordinated by Cutters Bike Shop and CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transportation.

From 10AM to 2PM, professional cycling instructors Frank Pavlick, Brian Sherry and Scott Slingerland, supervised. All instructors are certified by the League of American Bicyclists. After having their helmets and their bicycles checked & fitted, cyclists rode a basic skills course. The cost of the instructors is underwritten in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Music was provided by ReaLion Sound. A special shout out of thanks to Carmela Swenor (Farmersville PTA), Principal Hilton, Mildred Ozoa (Bethlehem Health Bureau), Lisa and Abbey Ronca from Cutters and all the parents.

Farmersville Elementary School (Bethlehem Area School District), Cutters Bike Shop, Bethlehem Health Bureau and the Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative put this event together. Sponsors include the Air Quality Partnership Lehigh Valley/Berks, Cutters Bike Shop and CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transportation.
