Bicycle Heaven Ride:

Have a certified instructor come to your home, check your bike and help you learn to ride to the destination of your choice stressful. All for $5! Call 610 954 5744 to make arrangements.

This is the kind of thing you will learn/review as part of your Bicycle Heaven Ride:

Don’t intimidate pedestrians. Look behind you before moving laterally on the roadway. When going downhill keep your hands on the brakes and control your speed.

Or pick any destination from which you would like to learn to ride from your home, whether it’s your local trail, a farmers market, or where you work. We will come to your home, check out your bike, go over a few basics, and then ride with you, showing you the best route and optimally safe/pleasant way to ride to the destination of your choice. All for $5!

Bike Education:

Basic Bicycle Education

Sample: Always check your tire pressure, that you have brakes and for wobble in your bearing rings before starting a ride.

Traffic Skills 101

Never approach another vehicle from the right unless it is in a left turn lane and/or signaling a left turn.   Look both ways when you come to an intersection where the street perpendicular to you is wider than the one you are on and be prepared to yield to cross traffic. Look behind you before moving laterally on the roadway. When traffic is coming and you have to stop at a stop sign put your foot down on the street.

Basic Bicycle Mechanics

Take our most popular class, the basic bike maintenance class. In two 2-hour classes you become one with your ride. Email bikedirector@car-free.org to connect with Scott Slingerland, the instructor, with any questions.

Advanced Bicycle Mechanics

Frank Pavlick is offering several Advanced Bike Mechanic Workshop series in the new year:
