Using the tools and supplies in the BBC today.

Ben Marsden fixed a flat.

Steve Schmitt adjusted his brake after Scott Slingerland trued his rear wheel.

Gary Warren put a new brake cable on his son Elliott’s library bike.

Scott Slingerland worked on his front wheel and decided he needs a new rim.

The BBC offers education classes, Bicycle Heaven Rides and the Bicycle Library program.

Bike Education:

Basic Bicycle Education

Scott Slingerland worked with Mary Anne Winterhoff showing her how we introduce someone to cycling or a new bike. Helmet and bike fit, safety quick check, basic skills in the parking lot including emergency stop, then a ride on the road in low traffic situations. Mary Anne took the course on the library recumbent.

Traffic Skills 101

Mary Anne Winterhoff and Scott Slingerland visited Larry D’amelio, owner of Action Wheels. Gave him 50 PA Bicycle Drivers Manuals. Talked about his services, such as bike rentals. Talked about co-promoting and bicycle education events in the future.

Basic Bicycle Mechanics

Advanced Bicycle Mechanics

Frank Pavlick showed Gary Warren how to increase spring tension on a V-brake.

The B.O.B. trailer is a great way to haul whatever you need, especially on a trail or other narrow route.
The recumbent bike is available right now. An excellent option for a CAT member to try upon returning to cycling after work on their back.

Have a certified instructor come to your home, check you bike and ride with you to the Farmer’s Market. All for $5! Call 610 954 5744 to make arrangements.
