Members use BBC Tools with mechanic assistance:
Barry Shook cleaned and lubed his drive train and filled tires. Lee checked over his brakes and wheels, no problems. Steve swapped out Barry’s saddle for his as his was well worn. Steve also showed Barry a way to get back to town that involves a lot less traffic noise and pollution. Keep riding Barry.
Steve Schmitt, the usual tire filling, brake pad checking and chain cleaning/lubing.
Derek Vacchino worked for several hours on his BMX bike.
Athena Greenspan and Khiem Vo started at the beginning. They learned about tires, brakes, bearing rings, starting and stopping and lots of other stuff.
Athena Greenspan and Khiem Vo learned about fixing a flat tire and preventing flats.
- Lee Poole-Smith checked the brakes on Athena Greenspan’s bike
- Lee checked over Barry’s bike.

This week’s donations:
The BBC accepts donations of bicycles, bike parts, tools and supplies on Thursdays from 5-9PM and Saturdays from 8AM to 4PM at 1935 W Broad St. in Bethlehem. We provide a receipt for all contributions and we are a 501(c)3 educational charity under the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Lynda Moore donated a micro wave oven.
John Zachman donated two bikes, some tires and other parts.
Right now we are also hoping someone will donate a work sink we can install in the BBC.
Andeana Gonzales, a film maker studying at Northhampton Community College came by and interviewed Steve, Lee and Derek.
Khiem Vo started his community service to graduate from Freedom High School. He is pretty good with the computer and is already working on this report and correcting some problems with previous reports.
