PennDOT Plans for Fahy (New Street) Bridge Bethlehem

PennDOT to Hold Public Plans Display for Philip J. Fahy Memorial (New Street) Bridge Project in the City of Bethlehem

Allentown – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold a public plans display tomorrow to update residents, business owners and motorists about the proposed rehabilitation to the Philip J. Fahy Memorial (New Street) Bridge over the Lehigh River, Monocacy Creek, and Lehigh Canal in the City of Bethlehem, Northampton County.

The project is being designed to rehabilitate the ten-span steel I-beam and steel
rigid frame structure that carries New Street over the Lehigh River in the City of Bethlehem.

The plans will be displayed from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bethlehem City Hall, 10 East Church Street, Bethlehem. Residents, business owners and motorists are encouraged to attend.

At the meeting, PennDOT and design consultant engineers will present plans, traffic impacts, and explain the design process of the proposed improvements to the Philip J. Fahy Memorial Bridge.

The design consultant for this project is HNTB Corporation of Philadelphia, Pa.
