Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative eNews – Sat. March 16,2013

The Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative (BBC) is open for Members and Guests every Thursday from 5-9pm and Saturday from 8AM to 4PM.

Now located at 1935 W. Broad St. in West Bethlehem!

Members use BBC Tools with mechanic assistance:

Steve Schmitt checked the air in his tires, cleaned/lubed his chain, and adjusted his brakes.

Derek Vacchino continued rebuilding his BMX bike with help from Scott Slingerland and Lee Poole-Smith.

Tim Miles is building a bike for Christin Hottenstein.

Lee Poole-Smith worked on Daniel Lader’s shifter.

Ian Douglas did a general tune-up on his bike.

The BBC offers education classes, Bicycle Heaven Rides and the Bicycle Library program.

                                Barrett Ladd donated a bag with seat bags, 3 seats, a tube and etc.

Roy Young bought two pizzas.  Everybody ate them as if we had not eaten for days.

Visitors:

Barrett Ladd stopped in to see how the BBC was coming along

A guy working for Barrett next door, came by to find out what we do.  He is coming back Thursday evening with his kids.

Volunteer coordinator is responsible for the report each time the BBC is open. S/he has everyone sign-in, tracks members, registers activities, records class participation, maintains paperwork and takes pictures. If you think you might enjoy this job email Christin@car-free.org today.

Derek Vacchino picked up garbage, cut rags and sorted parts.

Josh Fairchild took traffic skills 101 and entertained Christin.

Ian Douglas came in for community service again, cut rags, changed our address on literature, picked up litter in the neighborhood and took more TS101.

Kyle Epright changed address on brochures, sorted parts.

Luis Rodriquez changed addresses on literature, picked up litter in the neighborhood, took Traffic Skills 101 and pumped up the tires on the training bikes.
