Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative eNews – Sat. March 9,2013

The Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative (BBC) is open for Members and Guests every Thursday from 5-9pm and Saturday from 8AM to 4PM.

WE MOVED TO 1935 W. Broad St. in West Bethlehem!

Today’s Bicycle Quotation:

“Think of bicycles as rideable art that can just about save the world.”

Grant Petersen

* If you have a favorite quotation or an interesting story about a personal experience while you were cycling and you would like to share that with us please comment below and maybe next week it will be in our post!!!! :)

Members use BBC Tools with mechanic assistance:

Steve Schmitt pumped up his tires, cleaned his chain, and got his headset overhauled by Lee Poole-Smith.

Lee helped out Derek out on his bike (putting new tires on and a new crank set).  Lee is rebuilding a BMX wheel for Derek.

Derek put a brake on his bike so it would be legal.

Janneke Bos cleaned her bike, lubricated it and fixed a slow leak in her front tire.

Julie Vitale helped her.  They worked on the very sunny back deck.

Lee put a new derailleur on Julie’s library bike.  He had to put a new cable on the derailleur also. Steve helped her clean and lube her chain as well as pump up her tires.  We recommend Julie come back soon because she needs new housings on her brake cables and perhaps further work on her front brake pads, front derailleur and head set.  Did not check the wheels and tires thoroughly either.

Joesph Amedeo stopped in to have his bike looked at from Lee to see if it needed oil because it was squeaky
