The event benefits CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transportation trail programs to popularize the Monocacy Way. “Thanks to the efforts of our Parks & Public Property Department we have a beautiful trail that is just a 5 minute walk from downtown,” says CAT Director, Steve Schmitt. This event would not be possible without the very able assistance of super CAR-FREE CAT volunteers, Roy Young, Anne Connors, Lee Poole-Smith, Janneke Bos and Zoe Schmitt.
The MW5K is sponsored by the Bethlehem Police Department which stables their horses at Burnside Plantation which is the start and finish of the Run.
