There are work crews cleaning up the new BBC West every Wednesday 5-9PM and Sundays from Noon to 4PM. You can help, too. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
This past Sunday, April 29, was a good day at the BBC West as volunteers J. Dietrich Reisenberger, Sue Hohe and Gary Warren got a lot done. J. has put in many hours pulling down the old ceiling and pulling up the carpet, with some help from Gary. Several loads of garbage (thanks to Sue Hohe and her truck) were removed from the new Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative satellite at 1935 West Broad Street.
Neighbor Dave is making a sign for the front window. The place is already filling up with bicycles. The new Trek Transport, donated by Barrett Ladd (also the owner of the property), taking star position in the window.
Sue and Gary moved a desk, chair, helmets, some supplies and other stuff over from the BBC on Raspberry Street to start getting the new BBC West up and running. J. has installed a dehumidifier in the basement. Official opening is expected this summer.
There was a bit of drama at the Zoning Board Hearing before the Board voted 5-0 to allow Barrett to work with CAT to run a bike cooperative.
