Barrett Ladd donates a Trek Cargo Bike to new BBC West

The Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative (BBC) is open for Members and Guests every Thursday from 5-9pm and Saturday from 8AM to 4PM. We are located at 14 West Raspberry in beautiful, downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

CAT members using BBC Tools with mechanic assistance:

  • Steve Schmitt put on a new front headlight on the road bike he uses, reattached old headlight lead to battery to bike frame, replaced rear spoke, cleaned drive train.  Lee and Scott helped true Steve’s rear wheel.
  • J. cleaned his chain
  • Joshua added frame pump to bianchi road bike
  • Janneke Bos came in with son Liam, filled 8 gallon bottles with filtered water.
  • Scott rebuilds rear hub
  • Mike Fink visiting from Delaware, riding to Boston, to Buffalo to Alabama, stopped in comped a membership for writing a story about us.  He put on a rear red light we gave him.
  • Esme Montgomery replaced her seat post with a longer one.

Bike Education:

Esme took her library bike with her new seat post on the basic skills course.

Steve talked with Dave Leipert about shared lane markings on the Fahy Bridge and in Hellertown.

Steve got a lesson in radial truing from Scott.

  • Scott, Josh, Lee and J. Resienberger worked on a white and black R500 Cannondale Mtn bike

Gretchen’s Mom drops off the Burley Trailer

Gretchen Holt-Witt donated a brand new Burley trailer.

Barrett Ladd donated a fabulous Trek Cargo bike.

Scott Slingerland prepares a donated mountain bike for the Bike Library.

  • J. Dietrich Reisenberger came in to talk to Steve about BBC West.  He had used the bugger trailer to take his dehumidifier to BBC West which has a dirt floor in the basement.  J. has been working hard to tear out old carpet, remove filthy ceiling tiles, replace hangers for the drop ceiling and other cleaning.
