5K Run Showcases the Monocacy Way

The Monocacy Way 5k Run celebrates the beautiful urban trail in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, along the Monocacy Creek. 

The top male finisher:  Chris Fowler 19:59          The top female finisher Abby Reagan 24:40

Age group winners receive $25 gift certificates from Aardvark Sports Shop. 

18 and under female winner – Abby Reagan

18 and under male winner – Ben Ziegler

19-39 year old female winner – Nicole Weaver

19-39 year old male – Richard Valois

40-59 year old female winner – Rosemary Reagan

40-59 year old male winner – Robert Bennett

over 60 years old female winner – Julie Leon

over 60 years old male winner – Tony Karwacki

Alan & Hilary Dilsaver won the $50 Gift Certificate from Profiles Hair Salon. as a Father/Daughter team.

Rocco and Oliva Cappolella won the gift certificate from Jack Armstrong for a shiatsu massage.

The event benefits CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transportation trail programs to popularize the Monocacy Way.  “Thanks to the efforts of our Parks & Public Property Department we have a beautiful trail that is just a 5 minute walk from downtown,” says CAT Director, Steve Schmitt.  

The MW5K is sponsored by the Bethlehem Police Department which stables their horses at Burnside Plantation the start and finish of the Run.

The Bethlehem Parks & Public Property Department maintains the Monocacy Way.

CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transportation supports urban trails to make recreation more accessible to walkers, cyclists and those relying on public transportation.  Our thanks to volunteers Anne Connors, Sylvia Wamsley, John Tocado, J. Reisenberger, Timothy Miles and Roy Young who made his event possible.
