MOTORIST EDUCATION

Motorist Education is an offering of the League of American Bicyclists.

Motorist Education educates motorists to better understand and interact with cyclists.  This course is aimed at the operators of motor vehicles who have little or no knowledge of BikeEd principles.

Motorist Education is designed for driver education programs, police departments, state bicycle advisory committees, service groups, automobile clubs, court-mandated motorist remediation, and civic groups.  CAT has presented Motorist Education to groups of drivers such as bus operators, fire department personnel and police officers.

All Motorist Education classes are taught by a League Cycling Instructor (LCI), insured by American Specialty.

Motorist Education is a 1 to 3-hour course depending on the needs of the audience.

CAT coordinated LCIs discussed Motorist Education with over 90 people in 2003.  Those interested in providing Motorist Education for their group should call CAT at 610-954-5744 or write cat@car-free.org.
