WE
LOVE BIKES
Sponsored
by Saint Luke’s Hospital and the Shoppes at the Main Street Commons, the We
Love Bikes campaign, offers registration cards through bicycle retailers and
the Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative to bicycle owners, to sign up their bikes
with CAT. The cards are printed by
Saint Lukes Hospital. The $500 shopping
spree at the Main Street Commons is put up by Summit Property Management.
The
We Love Bikes card is filled out by the bicycle owner, who automatically
becomes a member of CAT. The lower
portion of the card is returned to CAT.
There is a place on the card to include a description of the bike and
the serial number. If the bike is lost
or stolen, CAT can circulate the description to 34 police departments and 9
full service bike shops to maximize the chance of recovery.
Also
on the We Love Bikes card is a place to suggest placement of a Share-the-Road
sign.
The
top half of the card stays with the bike owner and includes the five big safety
tips:
Wear
Your Helmet
Look
left, right, then left again before entering traffic.
Ride
the same direction as other vehicles.
Stop
for red lights and stop signs.
Be
predictable and visible.
