The Second Annual CAT Day
at Genesis Bicycles
Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Don’t miss
this chance to support bicycle education
in the Lehigh
Valley while having a great time!
Wow! The explosion of
bicycle education at Genesis Bicycles
is amazing. There are now rides led every day from Genesis’ full service bike
shop, with all ride leaders certified by the League of American Bicyclists
(LCIs).
Plus, everyone who goes on their first ride from Genesis must complete a 15
minute educational presentation prepared by the League, that helps each cyclist
ride confidently and safely almost anywhere. What an amazing tailwind
Genesis has become for bicycle culture. Genesis leads every other bike
shop in the country in bicycle education.
And the best part about it: the impact of bicycle education is good for
business, too. Genesis means more people biking in Easton, eating at our
restaurants, spending money in our shops, looking at the new places we have to
live. More educated cyclists mean calmer streets, a more picturesque
atmosphere, a tourist experience that other visitors will enjoy and come back
to repeat, and tell their friends about. More biking means more bikes,
services and accessories sold. And that's important because Genesis and
the bike shop’s fourteen employees pay taxes, and Genesis contributes to the
community in dozens of ways.
Last year Genesis gave CAT more than $1,100 from the first CAT Day to for our bicycle education
efforts.
Special Note to Parents and Grandparents: Taking Children Along is the theme
from 11 AM to 1 PM as Barrett Ladd will conduct talks on Riding with Children,
including information about Trailers, Pedal-Trailers, the Trek
"Float-Learn to Balance Bike," Teaching your child to ride and
Teaching your child to shift.
Don't miss this chance to help transform the transportation system in the
Lehigh Valley. Join us CAT Day at Genesis Bicycles, Saturday, May 19, in
Easton. You, too, can be a bicycle advocate.
